One of our core values at Hauter is being transparent, which is why we are announcing that the Hauter Water Bag is going up from $88 to $90 on May 1, 2026.

We know in this economy, price increases are never fun to hear, so we want to explain why we came to this decision. 

Last year was a wild ride for small businesses that import goods. Starting in February 2025, the U.S. began rolling out a series of tariffs on Chinese imports that eventually reached as high as 145% before a partial rollback brought them down to around 30%. Throughout all of the uncertainty, we were committed to holding our price at $88. We didn't think it was fair to pass that instability on to you while things were still changing by the week.

But 2026 has brought a new challenge: oil prices.

The conflict involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz — a waterway that normally carries about 25% of the world's seaborne oil — has sent fuel costs surging across the entire shipping and logistics industry. At its peak, oil hit $118 per barrel. Gas prices in the U.S. climbed to over $4 a gallon, up from $2.98 before the conflict. And USPS, which relies heavily on fuel to move packages across the country, responded with an 8% fuel surcharge effective April 26, 2026.

Our entire supply chain, from our manufacturer to our shipping logistics, relies on oil. Therefore, an increase in oil prices has caused all of our partners to raise their prices. An increase in our product price, even at $2, was not a decision we made lightly.

Through April 30, you can still get the Hauter Water Bag at $88.
