A hydration backpack is your best buddy because it can accompany you on most of your adventures and activities. It offers hands-free hydration in a backpack that can hold all your essentials—what more can you ask for? Hydration packs are useful in pretty much any situation where you are trying to get out there, stay safe, and have fun!

Hydration backpacks are as versatile as you are. We’ll show you how we personally love using our hydration packs: music festivals, hikes or long walks, winter sports, sightseeing, amusement parks, and pickleball. This is a limited list, and we encourage you to use a hydration pack for your next adventure or activity.

Hydration Packs for Music Festivals & Live Events

Music festivals are the reason why Hauter was born! Most of these festivals are multiple-day marathons: We’re talking several hours of dancing your ass off, running to catch sets at different stages, and walking long distances to enter and exit the festival. Our fitness trackers typically clock fifteen miles of walking per day when we go to music festivals! A hydration backpack is crucial for you to stay safe and have fun at music festivals.

Moreover, festival season starts in the spring and goes strong through the summer, so it is hot and sunny out there. Music festivals can have unforgiving conditions (some self-inflicted), so a hydration backpack is an absolute must. Dehydration from dancing and walking during music festivals is a real thing, and there is nothing more annoying than holding a water bottle while you dance or having to waste time between sets buying another bottle (this is also not very sustainable!)

Not only do you need to carry water, but you also have to pack festival essentials so that you’re prepared to have a good time for several hours. Your wallet, phone, portable charger, hand wipes/sanitizer, gum, eye drops, extra layer, and snacks are the bare minimum to have on hand. We have friends who even pack extra shoes!

Hydration Packs for Hiking & Long Walks

Hiking is no walk in the park (pun intended). If you’re feeling adventurous, a lot of these trails are remote, where clean drinking water is essentially much non-existent. With hikes or long adventurous walks, you are constantly expending your energy and navigating challenging terrain. Having enough water on you is crucial so you don’t die out there.

It sounds like we’re being hyperbolic, but let’s also consider the worst-case scenario: what if you get lost out on your hike? This is very much a reality, and you need to have enough water on you until someone finds you. Trust us… Google casual walkers who are unprepared and get lost while on a seemingly routine hike.

That’s why a hydration backpack is critical for hiking or walking long distances. It’s the only vessel that can carry the sufficient amount of water you need for your plans and safeguard you from potential mishaps. During hikes, you should also carry other necessities such as snacks, bandaids, sunscreen, hats, and more to withstand the elements.

Hydration Packs for Skiing and Snowboarding

Hydration is just as important when it’s cold as it is when it's hot. The altitude on the slopes is particularly punishing. You are getting dehydrated out there, but you most likely don’t realize it. By wearing a hydration backpack on the mountain, you can stay on the slopes longer without needing to return to the lodge for refreshments.

Also, raise your hand if you have been personally victimized by mid-mountain lodges and paid $30 for chicken fingers. Overpriced mountain food is not cool, so we always pack our own lunch in our backpacks. A homemade turkey sandwich and some protein bars sustain us for hours on the slope. In our hydration packs, we also like to carry our tech gloves, sunglasses, and beanies that we can change into during our lunch breaks. Seriously, is there a better feeling than taking off your helmet during your lunch break? Well, maybe the feeling of taking off your boots at the end of the day is the best feeling…

Hydration Packs for Day Trips & Sightseeing

Some people might shun a hydration backpack when traveling or sightseeing out of fear of looking like tourists. If you are a tourist, you are a tourist. Just embrace it: it’s okay to look like a tourist!

When we visit new cities and countries, we are trying to see as much as possible, which typically means walking A LOT. It’s better to have all your essentials, like water and snacks, on you so you can see all the attractions uninterrupted. You can also store your touristy essentials like guidebooks and cameras in your backpack.

Who cares if the locals judge you? You are well-equipped and making lasting memories.

Hydration Packs for Theme Parks and Amusement Parks

Are you noticing a theme here? Hydration backpacks are a smart accessory to have at any place or event that requires a lot of walking. This means they are perfect for amusement parks. Disneyland is 500 acres, which is huge, but guess how big Disney World is? 27,520 acres or 43 square miles. With this much acreage, you bet you’re going to be walking a marathon.

If you’re trying to hit up as many attractions and rides as possible, a hydration pack is important to keep you hydrated and have uninterrupted fun! Carry your sunscreen, sunglasses, memorabilia, Mickey Mouse ears, and snacks while you explore each kingdom.

Hydration Packs for Pickleball

Ok, this is a bit of a curveball and specific to our team and bag. Our team loves pickleball and our backpack happens to be the perfect size for a pickleball paddle. We can also carry pickleball must-haves like balls, towels, hats, sunscreen, and grips.

The Hauter Water Bag is the Cutest Hydration Pack Out There!

Hydration backpacks are a great investment because there are many ways and places to carry them. You can get creative with how you use your bag, like how our team uses it for pickleball or how some of our customers use it for the beach! Our one gripe with hydration backpacks is that most of them are eyesores. We’ve always found it impossible to find a backpack that was as functional and versatile as a hydration bag while looking cute enough to match our outfits.

That’s why we created the Hauter Water Bag: We know you’re active, but we also know you want to look good out there. Our backpacks are functional enough to keep up with your adventures, but fashionable to match your aesthetic. Picking between substance and style should never be a thing, and you should be able to have both.

Shop the Hauter Water Bag to have the cutest hydration backpack while you tackle your next activity!
